- In January 2010, there were 10,739,800 people of working age (15 years and over) in Ontario.
- There were 7,221,000 people in Ontario’s labour force according to Statistics Canada’s Labour Force Survey for January 2010. Thus, 67.2% of Ontario’s working age population was either employed or actively seeking employment. This percentage is also known as the labour force participation rate.

As of January 2010, there were 6,557,700 people working in Ontario, 81.1% of them full time.

Another 663,200 people were unemployed. This represented an unemployment rate of 9.2% for Ontario in January 2010.
